"G.992.1 and G.992.2" compatible modems can be used, please confirm with your new ISP
2) I'm on the Nortel Platform (in Ontario and Quebec) if I switch will I still be able to use a Nortel modem?
Generally speaking when you move to a new provider the equipment you connect to at the Central Office (CO) gets replaced. Meaning your Nortel Networks modem will no longer work and you will be switched to a "G.992.1 and G.992.2" compatible service.
